Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about fence installation, materials, permits, and repairs in Orlando. Don't see yours? Call us at (704) 749-0642 and we'll help.

How much does fence installation cost in Orlando?

The cost of fence installation depends on the material, linear footage, terrain, and any site prep needed. A 150-foot wood fence costs differently than a 150-foot vinyl fence. We give free estimates so you know the price before any work starts. Call us at (704) 749-0642 and we'll come measure your property.

What type of fence is best for Orlando's climate?

Central Florida's heat, humidity, and hurricane season are tough on fences. Vinyl fencing handles moisture well and won't rot. Aluminum is rust-proof and maintenance-free. Cedar wood resists rot better than pine. We recommend materials based on your specific situation, budget, and how much maintenance you want to do.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Every estimate is free, with no obligation and no pressure. We come to your property, measure the fence line, discuss materials, and provide a clear, written quote. Whether you need wood fencing, vinyl, or fence repair, we'll give you a straightforward price with no hidden fees.

Do I need a permit to build a fence in Orlando?

In most cases, yes. Orlando and Orange County require permits for new fence construction. There are also height restrictions, setback requirements, and HOA rules to consider. We handle the permit process and make sure your fence meets all local codes before we start building.

How long does fence installation take?

Most residential fence installations are completed in 1-3 days, depending on the size of the property and the material. A standard backyard privacy fence typically takes 1-2 days. Larger properties or complex terrain may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline with your estimate.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Orlando and the entire Central Florida metro area, including Kissimmee, Winter Park, Sanford, Lake Mary, Oviedo, Winter Garden, Clermont, Apopka, Altamonte Springs, Longwood, Casselberry, Windermere, Dr. Phillips, Davenport, St. Cloud, Winter Springs, Maitland, Belle Isle, and Celebration. Visit our service areas page for more details.

Is Orlando Fence licensed and insured?

Yes. We carry full liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. If anything happens on the job — damage to property or injury to a crew member — you’re covered, not us. We’ll show you proof of insurance before we start. It’s one of the first things you should ask any contractor.

Can you repair my existing fence?

Yes. Our fence repair service covers everything from replacing a few broken boards to fixing leaning posts, storm damage, and sagging gates. Sometimes a repair makes more sense than a full replacement, and we’ll give you an honest recommendation either way.

Do you install gates?

Yes. Our gate installation service includes swing gates, sliding gates, and driveway gates. We build custom gates to match your existing fence or include them in new installations. We can also repair existing gates that are sagging, sticking, or not latching properly.

What's the difference between wood and vinyl fencing?

Wood fencing costs less upfront but requires regular staining or sealing to hold up in Florida’s climate. Vinyl costs more initially but needs almost zero maintenance and won’t rot, warp, or need painting. We break down the pros and cons in our blog post on wood vs vinyl fencing.

Will you work with my HOA?

Yes. Many Orlando neighborhoods have strict HOA requirements for fence style, height, and material. We’re familiar with the rules in most local communities and can help you choose a fence that meets your HOA’s guidelines. We’ll also provide the documentation your HOA needs for approval.

Do you do commercial fencing?

Yes. Our commercial fencing service includes security fencing, perimeter fencing, dumpster enclosures, and access control for businesses, warehouses, and commercial properties across the Orlando metro area.

How deep do you set fence posts?

We typically set posts at least 2 feet deep in concrete footings. Florida’s sandy soil can shift with moisture changes, so proper post depth and concrete volume are critical. Cutting corners on post depth is the number one reason fences lean — we don’t cut that corner.

Can I get a fence installed in winter?

Yes. We install fences year-round in Orlando. Florida’s mild winters are actually a great time for fence work — lower humidity, less rain, and our schedule is usually more flexible. We can dig and pour concrete any time of year in Central Florida.
